The Goring has stood on a quiet Belgravia side street since 1910, and it is still owned by the family that opened it. You notice that the moment you arrive. A footman in a scarlet coat holds the door, woolly toy sheep turn up in unexpected corners, and the whole house feels more like a grand private residence than a hotel.
Many of the rooms and suites face the hotel's own lawn, a rare green secret in the middle of the city. Expect hand-painted silk wallpaper, four-poster beds, polished wood and marble bathrooms, with balconies above the garden in some categories. The Goring also has a long royal story: Catherine Middleton spent the night before her 2011 wedding here.
Food is a big part of the appeal. The Dining Room holds a Michelin star, breakfast arrives on crisp white linen, and afternoon tea in the glass-walled lounge overlooking the garden draws as many Londoners as hotel guests. Later on, the cocktail bar under its gilded ceiling and the fire-lit lounge take over.
The video captures the house as it likes to be seen: polished, a little playful and thoroughly English. Buckingham Palace is a short stroll away, and Victoria station is just around the corner.

London, United Kingdom.
Belgravia is one of the most elegant corners of central London, a district of white stucco terraces, garden squares and quiet mews. Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews are about ten minutes away on foot, and St James's Park and Green Park open up right behind the palace.
Victoria station, a few minutes from the hotel, links to the Underground and runs direct trains to Gatwick Airport. Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament are a pleasant walk east, while the boutiques of Sloane Square, Knightsbridge and Brompton Road lie to the west.
What guests say.

Guests on Google mostly praise the warm, polished service, often naming individual staff members who made their visit. Afternoon tea in the garden lounge is the experience reviewers mention most, followed by the cocktail bar and the Michelin-starred Dining Room. Many like the family-owned character and the calm Belgravia location close to Victoria. The criticism that does appear is pointed: one returning guest felt the rooms were overdue for renovation, housekeeping details slipped and the prices no longer matched the experience.
Read on Google“Favourite hotel in London, discreet and luxurious. Great staff, service and rooms. Cocktail bar is a joy and the Dining room is superb. Well worth the Michelin star. Always look forward to our visits”
