The First Musica sits on the right bank of the Tiber in Rome, along the riverside boulevard of Lungotevere dei Mellini in the Prati district. Its modern facade of glass and golden frames looks out through the plane trees to the water, and the historic centre is a short walk across the bridges.
Music is the thread running through the house. Many rooms pay tribute to a performer, with a large black and white portrait above the bed, dark wood panelling, touches of gold and bathrooms lined in pale marble. Tall windows frame the river, the treetops and, from the upper floors, the dome of St Peter's. A pillow menu and a playlist chosen to suit the room complete the idea.
On the top floor, Alto works as breakfast room, restaurant and cocktail bar, with a terrace looking over the rooftops towards the Vatican. Come at sunset, when the domes turn gold and the lights of the city switch on. Wellness comes to you here, with massages arranged in the privacy of your room.
Guests praise the team above all. The concierge books tables, plans transfers and sketches day routes, and stays on hand through WhatsApp. The video gives a first look at the rooms, the rooftop and the river views.

Rome, Italy.
Prati is the calm, elegant quarter between the Tiber and the Vatican, laid out in the late 19th century with wide avenues, stately apartment blocks and a lively shopping street along Via Cola di Rienzo. From the hotel, Castel Sant'Angelo and St Peter's Square are an easy walk, and the riverside paths below the embankment are lovely for an early morning stroll.
Cross the bridge and you are in the heart of old Rome: Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, the Spanish Steps and the lanes around Piazza Navona and the Pantheon are all within reach on foot. Rome Fiumicino Airport lies about 30 kilometres to the southwest, roughly 40 minutes away by car.
What guests say.
From guest reviews, checked October 2026.Guests are full of praise for the staff, who are described as warm, quick and personal, with the WhatsApp concierge singled out for restaurant tips and day plans. The riverside location lets people walk to the main sights while sleeping in a quieter area, and the upper floors and the Alto terrace earn compliments for their views over Rome. Not everything lands, though: a few guests found check-in slow, thought the rooftop and breakfast fell short of five-star expectations, or had a lower room facing road works.
Read on Google“The rooftop terrace is another highlight of the hotel, offering spectacular views of the Eternal City and the perfect atmosphere to relax after a day of exploring.”
