Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese sits on a quiet street in the upper part of central Rome, a short stroll from the Spanish Steps and right beside the umbrella pines of the Borghese Gardens. Behind the cream facade with its flags and tall shuttered windows waits an interior that feels calm and contemporary, starting with a domed lobby and a cascading glass chandelier.
Rooms combine high ceilings with soft neutral tones, modern art and bathrooms clad in white marble. From the upper floors you look out over terracotta rooftops or the green canopy of the park, and there is even a terrace with its own hot tub under the open sky. Guests keep mentioning how well they sleep here, helped by a menu of pillows to choose from.
The highlight is the seventh floor. Settimo, the glass-roofed restaurant and bar, serves Mediterranean cooking and a generous breakfast buffet, all with a wide panorama over the domes of the old city towards St Peter's. Return in the early evening for an aperitivo and watch the whole skyline turn golden.
A compact gym, meeting rooms for small groups and valet parking complete the picture. Our video gives you a first look around before you arrive.

Rome, Italy.
The hotel stands in the Ludovisi quarter, the elegant area around Via Veneto that grew up on the grounds of an old Roman villa. Barberini metro station is about six minutes away on foot, the Spanish Steps around eight and the Trevi Fountain roughly ten, so most of the historic centre is within walking distance. Keep in mind that the way back from the centre is slightly uphill.
Right across the old city walls lies Villa Borghese, one of Rome's largest parks, with shady avenues, a small lake and the Galleria Borghese with its sculptures by Bernini and paintings by Caravaggio. From the Pincio terrace at the edge of the park you look down on Piazza del Popolo. Rome Fiumicino Airport is about 30 kilometres to the southwest, and Roma Termini station is around twenty minutes on foot.
What guests say.
From guest reviews, checked October 2026.4.7/5

Guests are full of praise for the staff, who arrange anything from taxis to hard-to-get museum tickets and dinner tables. The rooftop restaurant and bar is the favourite spot, both for breakfast and for drinks at sunset with views reaching St Peter's. Rooms are described as spacious, modern and very comfortable, with marble bathrooms and excellent beds. The location near the Borghese Gardens is quiet yet central. On the downside, the walk back from the main sights is uphill, and one guest found breakfast service slow and inconsistent.
