Hotel Okura Amsterdam rises as a tall landmark on the southern edge of De Pijp, a Japanese hotel that has been part of the city skyline for around half a century. The brand video takes you through a house where Dutch hospitality and Japanese care for detail come together, from the lounges on the ground floor to the upper storeys with long views over Amsterdam.
Rooms are calm and classic, with big windows, Nespresso machines and rain showers, while the suites add living rooms and sweeping outlooks across the rooftops. Guests keep mentioning the small gestures: slippers set out at night, a choice of pillows and a turndown in the evening. Downstairs, an indoor pool with a round whirlpool sits next to the spa and a gym that suits families too.
Food is the reason many people come. The hotel has four restaurants, among them the Japanese Yamazato and the teppanyaki counters of Sazanka, with Ciel Bleu looking out from high above the city. Breakfast, afternoon tea and the cocktail bar earn just as much praise. The rooms are not the newest in town, but the service and the kitchens give a stay here its real character.

Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The hotel stands in Amsterdam Zuid, close to the Amstel river and a few minutes on foot from De Pijp, a lively neighbourhood of street markets, cafés and small restaurants. The Rijksmuseum and Museumplein lie under two kilometres away, and tram 12 links the area with much of the city.
Station RAI is about a fifteen minute walk, and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) is roughly twenty minutes away by car. A stroll along the Amstel leads to the canal belt and the Heineken Experience without needing any transport.
What guests say.
From guest reviews, checked October 2026.Guests are close to unanimous about the service: staff come across as warm, attentive and quick to fix problems, and several reviewers name individual team members. Breakfast, room service and the restaurants are praised too, as are the views from the upper floors. The honest downside is the building. Some guests find the rooms dated and overdue for a refresh, and during recent renovation work one guest reported scaffolding, early construction noise and a leak. The hotel is also south of the centre, though trams and a walk along the Amstel put most sights within reach.
